School’s Introduction
School’s Vision
iPlay, iLearn, iLove Playschool is a home from home for your child where the emphasis is on your child learning to socialise and having fun in a warm loving environment. We cater for 2 – 4 year olds. The playschool works within an Islamic ethos, which is a definite need in our community. We provide an Islamic environment and strive to teach Islam as a way of life rather than a separate subject. InshaAllah we will lay an Islamic foundation for your child/children to build on for the rest of his/her life.
iPlay, iLearn, iLove Playschool aspires to:
- to facilitate the holistic development of each child – physical, social, cognitive and emotional;
- ensure that children receive an education in the basic Islamic essentials such as behaviour, morals, etiquette, prayers etc;
- provide a wide balance of activities and learning experiences which promote and stimulate the development of all children to their full individual potential;
- teach children through means of opportunity, encouragement, support and reward;
- ensure the well being, protection, health and safety of all children;;
- add to the life and well-being of its local community.
As a member of iPlay, iLearn, iLove Playschool, your child will be:
- in a safe, stimulating, happy and secure environment to further develop the well being, self-esteem and confidence of all our children;
- given generous care and attention because of our high ratio of adults to children;
- able to join with other children and adults to live, play, work and learn together;
- introduced to colours, sizes, shapes, number concepts, spatial awareness, and fine motor and gross motor skills;
- taught about Allah’s Prophets, book and creations; and
- helped to take forward her/his learning and development by being helped to build on what she/he already knows and can do.
How we teach
The teaching methods at iPlay, iLearn, iLove Playschool will follow the ‘Learning Through Play’ approach to Early Years teaching. Play is important because it is a natural process which motivates children; it offers the child the chance to be in control within relevant and meaningful experiences. Through play children are challenged intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically, and linguistically.
When playing children are able to meet their own needs and make sense of their world as it involves exploring feelings, ideas, materials, relationships and roles, making connections and representing ideas, objects and environments. In play adults see children at their most competent – they also see children’s ideas, concerns, interests etc. This enables the key workers to effectively plan for each individual child. Children are never forced, pressurised, compared against others or made to feel inferior / inadequate when being introduced to new experiences.
We work on bi-weekly themes such as My Body, My Senses, Grace and Courtesy, My Family, My Home, Friends, Shapes and Colours, Animals, Transport, Healthy eating, Weather, This is what I wear, My Feelings and many other interesting themes. All activities, discussion ring and movement will be related to the theme.
