Full Description
Nursing covers have traditionally been a blanket or toweling nappy thrown over ones shoulder to try to cover ones breast from being exposed in public. I know from experience that this method although looking simple is anything but. Basically most new mother’s will discover that although breast feeding is the most natural way to feed a baby – it is not as simple as it looks. One needs practice and the baby will also need to get used to you. You most definitely need 2 hands (if not more) to latch the baby and let me tell you when you throw the traditional blanket over your shoulder you cannot see anything. So one is forced to lift the blanket with one hand and you are already holding the baby with the other so you have no way of logistically getting the baby to the breast. The other catch is that the blanket tends to slip constantly so one never really feels protected in public hence a lot us feel the need to go to another room to nurse and miss out on a lot of social interaction.
With the breastfeeding cover, it hangs from your neck like an apron so it will not slip and it has a semi-rigid neckline which automatically tents allowing you to see the baby and allows you the use of both hands to comfortably hold baby and latch him. It is also a big enough piece of material so that you are covered completely in public with no risk of exposure so you do not have to leave the present company when you need to nurse.
Only the best material has gone into making my breastfeeding covers. 100% cotton breathable material which is lightweight and hypoallergenic. The corners are cotton toweling for you to wipe the baby if necessary and form an extra pocket for dummies etc. It comes in 5 different materials. Please see website for pictures.
I only wish someone had given me the gift of one of these when I was expecting…
